There is no general ban on camping in Switzerland. However, this does not mean that it is generally permitted. In Switzerland, the legal provisions for camping in the wilderness or for overnight stays in motorhomes outside official campsites are defined at cantonal or, in most cases, communal level. Recommendation: Always be on the safe side and always ask the respective municipality or the local police station on the spot if you want to spend the night outside official campsites or pitches.
Highway service station
it is best to call them quickly and ask them for information. Some allow it.
It is recommended that you watch for signs of prohibition and, at best, check with the city council for camping facilities. Here too: calling and asking nicely is the solution.
take care of nature
Respect the environment and nature - put campers only in a suitable place - do not disturb wild animals and avoid noise.
Take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints - leave the place as you found it.
Regularly check the current forest fire danger situation
Check with the local authorities, the tourist office, the responsible caretaker or the owner of the site if you wish to park your motorhome outside a campsite at night.
